Frequently asked questions

What does Scorpio Engineering BMH make?

Turnkey pneumatic conveying systems, in both dense phase and dilute (lean) phase, plus the equipment around them: rotary airlock valves, diverter valves, bag dump stations, big bag unloaders, silos and bulk tanker unloading systems. We design, manufacture, install and commission everything from Bangalore.

What is the difference between dense phase and dilute phase conveying?

Dilute phase carries powder quickly, suspended in a large volume of air. It is simple and economical for free-flowing, non-abrasive materials. Dense phase pushes material slowly through the pipe in slugs, using far less air. That makes it better for abrasive or fragile materials and long distances, with less pipe wear and product breakage. We build both and recommend one after looking at your material.

Which materials can you convey?

More than 150 powders and granules so far, including carbon black, cement, fly ash, soda ash, talc, china clay, sugar, maida, milk powder, polymer pellets, soap noodles, pigments and titanium dioxide.

Which industries do you work with?

Carbon, chemicals, food, glass, minerals, paints, plastics and petrochemicals, power and cement, and soap and detergent plants. We have 1,226+ clients in India and abroad.
